Meta plans to give its popular messaging application WhatsApp a facelift. The company is reportedly developing a series of new features, including interface changes that will transform the overall look of WhatsApp’s user interface.

As usual, WABetaInfo has just revealed Meta’s plans for the next versions of its popular messaging application WhatsApp. According to information unearthed in the latest beta of the application on Android, the American giant is preparing to deploy a visual overhaul which will modify the design of the interface.

WhatsApp will notably remove the green banner at the top of the page in favor ofa predominant green color theme, both in light and dark mode. We can also expect changes to the colors of the dialog bubbles and the floating action button, but also new icons.

WhatsApp will change its design on Android

According to screenshots taken by WABetaInfo of the new version of the application, in dark mode, the bottom bar is a slightly lighter gray than the rest of the interface, which helps to separate it well. from the list of chats and the conversations themselves. Moreover, updates will bring renovated chat bubbles for dark theme users and redesign the floating action button. We also notice the absence of the three-point menu, but it may make its return in a future version.

Other notable changes include a refreshed camera icon on the main chat screen and the replaced icons for video calls, voice calls and camera compared to previous versions. The screenshots posted by WABetaInfo show these new icons in both light and dark mode.
