A method to control insulin secretion has been developed through a song by the world-famous band Queen. Attention is being paid to whether diabetic patients who have difficulty controlling blood insulin levels will be able to lead more comfortable daily lives.

The research team came up with sound waves to solve this problem. A bacterial gene that creates a structure in the cell membrane that moves in response to sound or vibration was embedded into insulin-producing cells and cultured in the laboratory. Afterwards, it was confirmed that insulin was released when music was played nearby.

Additionally, a safety device must be created to prevent unintentional secretion of insulin in an environment where various types of music are playing.
