SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver fifth-year middle blocker Cadi Boyer and Kansas City junior defensive specialist Leah Green collected the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Volleyball Peak Performers of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday. Boyer earned the offensive honor, while Green earned the defensive nod.
Boyer and the Pioneers opened league play by sweeping North Dakota and North Dakota State at home. The Georgetown, Texas native posted nine kills, six blocks and three service aces once morest the Fighting Hawks.
Boyer paced the Pioneers with a team-high 11 kills while accumulating a .500 hitting percentage once morest the Bison. In total, Boyer recorded a .515 hitting percentage and averaged 3.33 kills per set.
Green led the Roos to a pair of five-set victories in the first week of league action where she collected 54 digs. Kansas City opened league play once morest Omaha where the Fate, Texas recorded match-highs in digs (24) and service aces (3).
Against South Dakota State, Green surpassed 30 digs for the second time this season and added six assists. For the week, Green averaged 5.4 digs per set and added a kill to her stat line.
