A few weeks ago, my colleague Maxime Truman talked regarding “paying top dollar for an unfinished product” when talking regarding the Montreal Canadiens and the prices that continue to rise.
This also applies to the Rocket, by the way.
Obviously, the cost of living is rising (those who shop for groceries realize this over time) and this is felt everywhere… but let’s say that an evening at the Bell Center is no longer affordable for many people.
I know it was full for the Reds vs. Whites game because Montreal loves its Canadian, but there are a lot of people who were there because it’s the only time they will be able to go.
Brief. All this to say that we find ourselves this followingnoon in a new episode of “a trip to the Bell Center is expensive” since during yesterday’s (preparatory) match, it was the price of beer that was the talk.
A hockey fan also complained in a video yesterday, mentioning that beer cost $12 in the past, but that now, before tipping, you have to pay no less than $16.50 to drink.

Just that.
Obviously, many fans have said that if the price is so high, people should just drink liquor instead. On the other hand, we agree that the price is exorbitant all the same.
Beer is $16.50 at the Bell Center tonight. If only the owner had contact with a brewer to get prices on beer.
Oh wait. #GoHabsGo

I don’t like beer enough to have one at that price, but we agree that it’s normal to taste like one small fret when we go to the Bell Centre. And the CH bosses know that.
They also know that the arena will always be full. Non, the management of the CH does not have to worry with that…

That said, as long as it’s just criticism on social media like we saw last night, it won’t change anything. After all, no one at CH says that the prices will suit people.
But if there is a difference in the sale of the product… then that can change.
