The implementation of major road improvements is scheduled for the beginning of October on the national 63 in Tinlot, in the province of Liège, the Complementary Infrastructure Financing Company (SOFICO) indicated on Monday.
From the first week of October, construction work will begin on two new roundregardings and a carpool parking lot, near the town of Tinlot, on the national 63 which links Liège and Marche-en-Famenne. This falls within the context of the Tihange-Tinlot connection file.
“These significant developments are intended to make traffic more fluid and secure, but also to encourage carpooling and the use of public transport,” the SOFICO spokesperson said on Monday, specifying that the work will take place until the end of 2024.
Prior to these achievements and in order to ensure mobility during the work, a temporary roundregarding will be set up at the crossroads formed by rue du Montys, rue de Tantonville and rue du Centre.
A first roundregarding will then be erected at the Levooz crossroads (route de Marche, rue du Center, rue de Tillesse). Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-October 2023 until the end of the following year.
The second roundregarding will take place at the Tinlot road interchange where the current bridge over the national 63 will be demolished. The infrastructure will be supplemented by carpooling and a stop for the fast bus from Marche-en-Famenne to Liège. This work is scheduled from the start of the year to September 2024.
Diversions will be put in place during these projects.
The entire project represents a budget of 4.9 million euros, financed by SOFICO, the project owner. The mobility and infrastructure division of the public service of Wallonia (SPW) is the project manager while the private company Colas will carry out the work.
