After intense market expectations, the City of Igarapava (SP), in collaboration with the Houer Group, completed the auction for the concession of implementation, operation and management services for the municipality’s water and sewage adduction, treatment and distribution system.
The purpose of this action is to select the most advantageous proposal according to the criteria for the highest grant offer. The Igarawater Consortium, represented by the brokerage Planner, is the winner with a proposal of R$24,500,000.00. The Igarawater consortium surpasses the offer from Sabesp (Companhia de Saneamento Básico de São Paulo) and becomes champion in the auction for the concession of sanitation services in the municipality of Igarapava (SP).
The project covers supply, requalification, operation, maintenance (preventive, predictive and corrective) services and other essential procedures to ensure the continuity of services. It is stipulated that the concession period lasts for 35 years.
José Ricardo Rodrigues Mattar, mayor of Igarapava, expresses his satisfaction. “It is with great satisfaction and hope that I come today to share the success of the holding and conclusion of our sanitation auction. This is a milestone for Igarapava and a significant step towards a more prosperous and sustainable future for our city. This auction is more than a commercial transaction. It is the beginning of a journey of transformation and progress for Igarapava, and I am confident that we will build a healthier, fairer city with quality of life for all our citizens.”
The estimate is that this concession will mobilize an investment of around R$21.5 million, not including operational costs and the indirect and socio-environmental benefits generated, such as advances in health, disease prevention, appreciation of real estate and the tourism sector. The project aims to provide the municipality, with a population of 30 thousand inhabitants, with improvements to the current sewage treatment plant and new services in line with the development of the locality.
“Without a doubt, this is a new moment for Basic Sanitation in Brazil. And more than talking regarding the numbers, it is important to mention the relevance and importance of this auction for the infrastructure sector in Brazil. At the end of the entire modeling process, it is very important to realize that the market is attentive and competitive. This is an example that it is possible to make innovations in Brazilian infrastructure”, explains Camillo Fraga, managing partner of the Houer Group, the company responsible for modeling the project.
The event took place at the headquarters of the Stock Exchange, in São Paulo. Guilherme Peixoto, superintendent of bidding processes at B3, expresses his satisfaction by declaring: “For B3, it is a source of great joy to make available a scenario that, for more than three decades, has facilitated dialogue between excellent projects and investors, aiming to improve the infrastructure and public services, for the benefit of national growth.”
