the essential BU, the first festival on the sulphurous subject of drunkenness takes place on October 7 rue du Coq d’Inde. On the conference menu and good bottles.
“It is not a question of advocating alcoholism or “binge drinking” (massive alcoholism, editor’s note) but of thinking regarding a taboo subject as a whole section of sexuality may have been before. A start of drunkenness can allow you to enter a form of disinhibition conducive to creativity,” assures Benjamin Böhle-Roitelet, owner of the Nebuchadnezzar wine bar and organizer of BU, the first festival on drunkenness. The event takes place on October 7 in the center of Toulouse, along the entire rue du Coq d’Inde from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Participants will be able to listen to Alicia Dorey, editor-in-chief of Le Figaro vin, author of the book “à nos ivresses” Flammarion. At a time when good physical health is considered the ultimate Holy Grail of any civilized society, she does not hesitate to write: “To my knowledge, there is no illness for which drunkenness is not a remedy: work, boredom, commuting, breakup, heatwave, cold, hunger, change of scenery. » Words which will undoubtedly not please many addict doctors or former alcoholics. Other speakers like Véronique Nahoum-Grappe, anthropologist and Guillaume Sire, artisan-researcher will focus on dissecting the relationship that our societies have had or might have had with drunkenness. Films around the theme will also be screened throughout the festival including “Drunk in the house of lords”, a film on the life of the Rock group Poni Hoax, master of excess of all kinds… “The festival is not an ode to drunkenness but we have the right to study it and understand why this subject has accompanied so many artistic creations for centuries,” underlines Benjamin Böhle-Roitelet
