It’s a false start but the engines remain hot for the majority deputies in the fight once morest the “feeling of anonymity” on the Internet. At the end of committee work on the bill “Securing and regulating the digital space” (SREN) on Thursday September 21, the general rapporteur, Paul Midy (Renaissance), certainly withdrew several of his amendments on the issue. But the debate will resume when the text is examined in the hemicycle at the beginning of October, concomitantly with discussions on the same subject at European level.

Mentioned over and over once more in recent years in each case of insults and death threats uttered on social networks by profiles hidden behind a pseudonym, online anonymity was once once more the subject of criticism following the urban riots in last July in France.
