SPÖ must also take seriously the standards it sets for other parties

Vienna (OTS) – “Andreas Babler has to act – glossing over the red rededication profits in Vienna’s Danube city is not enough. The SPÖ chairman Babler proves with his statements that the rules that the Babler-SPÖ demands from other parties apparently do not apply to the SPÖ. What is needed are actual consequences and full clarification,” says the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker.

“The same standards must apply to all parties. In the past, the Babler-SPÖ has not been sparing in making mantra-like demands for resignation – even if they subsequently turned out to be completely wrong. When it comes to ‘its own people’, all you hear from the SPÖ is embarrassed silence. If the SPÖ were to set its own standards, the suspension of offices would be long overdue,” Stocker continues and concludes by emphasizing: “Instead of protecting his Viennese bathing chic, Andreas Babler should finally take responsibility for his party. Anyone who doesn’t even take responsibility for a party cannot take responsibility for our country for a long time. People cannot rely on social democracy.”
