At the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea (UFDG), officials believe that nothing now justifies the ban on street demonstrations in Guinea.
On the morning of this Saturday, September 23, 2023, on the occasion of his return from the United States where he participated in the UN general assembly, several citizens mobilized on the highway to welcome Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya .
This mobilization comes as the Forces Vives of Guinea threaten to call demonstrations to denounce the lack of transparency in the management of the transition. For the coordinator of the UFDG communications unit, this proves that street demonstrations are no longer prohibited in the country.
Joachim Baba Milimouno calls on citizens to stand up once morest the confiscation of their rights.
“The active forces promise to launch an appeal in the coming days and I say now to all the activists and sympathizers of the UFDG, to the people of Guinea, that it is time to take our responsibility in hand. Let’s not let our rights and freedoms be confiscated.”
In the same way that demonstrations of support are authorized, Joachim thinks that demonstrations of denunciation should no longer be prohibited.
“There are two types of demonstrations: demonstrations to denounce and demonstrations to support. If today we authorize demonstrations to support, we must authorize demonstrations to denounce,” believes the communications boss of the UFDG.
