New media article links from the ZuckHub.ca site were briefly blocked Thursday followingnoon on Meta platforms. The creator of the tool, Maxime Larrivee-Roy, did not waste a second in launching his response: within an hour, he transferred the domain under the name ZuckLePlouc.ca.
Users of the tool can still go to the ZuckHub.ca site to generate URLs for articles that can be shared on Facebook and Instagram, but also go through the new ZuckLePlouc.ca site.

In response to Canadian government legislation, news content cannot be shared, the message continued.
A Meta spokesperson told Radio-Canada that the company would not comment on this subject.
A snub to Meta
The creator of the site, developer Maxime Larrivee-Roy, who also signs the satirical page L’Actualité en memes, launched ZuckHub.ca on Tuesday with the aim of thumbing his nose at Meta.
It works as follows: we insert on the site a URL of an article from a media outlet – Radio-Canada, The Press, The duty or other – and the site generates a long link and a short link, which can then be shared on Instagram or Facebook.
As of late Thursday morning, ZuckHub.ca had hosted more than 1,500 articles which were redirected to news sites for some 115,000 views of these links.
The developer assures that it will purchase other domain names to continue its mission, in partnership with the digital literacy organization Crypto.Québec.
The creator plans to soon offer the code of his tool for free access on the GitHub platform in order to encourage other people to embark on similar initiatives.
