Hépar water, generally used for transit problems, is missing from supermarket shelves. Explanations.

Have climatic hazards got the better of Hépar water? The brand belonging to Nestlé Waters (Vittel, Contrex, Perrier brands, etc.), generally used for transit problems, seems to be experiencing supply problems, like the Mont Roucous brand a few months ago. It is indeed very difficult to find packs of Hépar water in stores at the moment, as revealed by the editorial staff of Drinks department.

It is the 6x1L format which is particularly difficult to find on the shelves. Nestlé Waters confirmed these failings to the specialist magazine, citing the climatic hazards of recent months.

“We are facing, like the entire industry, deteriorating climatic conditions, with more frequent and more intense events, such as regular droughts followed by heavy rains, which affect the operating conditions of certain drilling on its Vosges site”, the company indicated to BFM Business.

Two drillings suspended in May

Last May, the Swiss group announced the closure of two of its six boreholes dedicated to Hépar water in the Vosges. However, the company ensures with Drinks department continue the production of mineral water with the four other Vosges boreholes and promises to do “the maximum to currently guarantee the presence of at least one of its formats in stores”.

Last March, Nestlé Waters was already facing problems for another brand in its group, the soft drinks brand Perrier. These difficulties were also linked to climate change but also to a tense economic situation.
