After 2 p.m. this Thursday, an Argentine Army truck that was transporting soldiers capsized for reasons that are still unknown, causing the death of more than one person. The incident occurred on Route 62 on the way to Lolog, in the direction of San Martín de los Andes.
Civil Defense of San Martín de los Andes confirmed to RÍO NEGRO newspaper that “there are dead people.” However, the number was not specified since they are still working at the scene of the tragedy.
The undersecretary of Civil Defense and Citizen Protection, Martín Giusti, informed this medium that at least 20 people are injured.
San Martín de los Andes firefighters confirmed that The emergency call was at 2:27 p.m. and they are working in the area together with personnel from the Neuquén Integrated Emergency System (SIEN), Hospital, ICE, Argentine Army and Neuquén Police.
It was also reported that the injured are being transferred to the Ramón Carrillo Hospital and Chapelco Clinic.
