Frigorífico Pico and its brand Ohra Pampa – present in Córdoba – received the distinction of being the only Pampean refrigerator to receive the “Country Brand” certification, an achievement that recognizes the work and dedication sustained over time, valuing Argentine meat and positioning it as synonymous with excellence.
National and local authorities participated in the event, including the Secretary of Tourism Promotion of the Nation, Yanina Martínez, the Secretary of Tourism of the Province of La Pampa, Adriana Romero; the Mayor of the Municipality of General Pico, Fernanda Alonso, among other provincial and municipal officials.
Gastón Pellegrino, director of Frigorífico Pico and its exclusive brand of selected meat Ohra Pampa, received the distinction on behalf of the more than 800 families that are part of the company and the holders of the form.
“Country Brand” is a promotional tool of the Argentine Republic, which aims to achieve international positioning and the promotion of tourism, culture, Argentine talent, exports and the strengthening of national pride, among others. This is a State policy managed by the Tourism Promotion Secretariat of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Nation, resulting in great strategic value for national growth and development on the global stage.
In this context, Frigorífico Pico, a family company with national capital, led by Ernesto and Alan Lowenstein, father and son, seventh generation of the refrigeration industry, has a production complex equipped with cutting-edge technology, under the highest international standards. , being one of the main employers in the region, its “inclusive employment” program generating opportunities for people with disabilities, and being promoters of “The Meat Route”, an ambitious program to promote La Pampa as an attractive destination for tourism national and international, among other milestones that contribute to the strengthening of the country.
During the awarding ceremony, Gastón Pellegrino said: “at Frigorífico Pico we feel honored to be the first refrigerator to receive the Country Brand distinction, and we are sure of the enormous potential that Pampas meat has to contribute to the development of the country and even to develop markets and conquer the most demanding palates in the world.”
And he added: “On the one hand, we will continue to promote meat and barbecue as a tradition rooted in Argentine culture that distinguishes us in the world, and on the other, we are working to promote La Pampa, as a destination for national tourists and international people come to delight in our unique flavors, generating employment, investments and Argentine pride.”
