RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has deported 9,576 foreigners who faced legal action for violations of residence, employment and border security laws, officials said. This action was taken once morest so many people within a week from September 7 to September 13. During the same period, 15,812 new foreigners were arrested for violating the law in raids conducted in different areas of the country, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior said.
Of the 15,812 people arrested during the week, 9,801 were found to have violated Saudi Arabia’s residency laws. 3,804 violators of border security rules, 2,207 labor law violators and 827 people who were caught trying to cross the border illegally were arrested. Of those arrested trying to cross into Saudi Arabia, 61 percent were Yemenis, 18 percent were Ethiopians, and 21 percent were from other countries.
45 people were also caught trying to leave Saudi Arabia illegally. 15 persons were arrested for smuggling and harboring the violators of residence and labor laws.
As many as 44,016 offenders are currently undergoing the process. Out of which 36,701 are male and 7,315 are female. Of these, 37,221 are contacting the diplomatic offices of their respective countries to correct their travel documents. The travel procedures of 2,017 people are coming to an end.

Those who provide transport and accommodation facilities to such labor, residence and border violators in Saudi Arabia have also been warned of severe punishment. Up to 15 years in prison and a maximum fine of 10 lakh Riyals is the punishment if caught in this way. Moreover, the Ministry of Home Affairs has warned that vehicles and residential buildings will be confiscated.
