“It was always clear to me that I wanted to continue my parents’ job,” says Henriette Deisenhammer during the podcast recording on the SN Airstream of the mobile editorial team, which is also represented at the Salzburg Rupertikirtag this year. Henriette Deisenhammer is on site with four stalls: “I have duck swimming, can throwing and a Haribo stand. And of course the shooting gallery.”
The showwoman has known the hustle and bustle of the fair since she was a child. She is already in the sixth generation to attend fairs in Austria. Deisenhammer’s brother has now taken over his mother’s family business. The 58-year-old started her own business eight years ago. Her daughters and grandchildren also help actively. The children work part-time, the eleven- and eight-year-old grandchildren inflate balloons: “The enthusiasm for showmanship runs in the family.”
For Henriette Deisenhammer, looking at the faces of happy children is always a sign that she has chosen the right career. What are the difficult aspects of growing up in a showman’s family? And what is the most popular prize at the shooting and throwing galleries? The showwoman talks regarding this in this episode of “Woman in Question”, this time as part of SN on tour directly from the Salzburg Rupertikirtag.
In the podcast, Henriette Deisenhammer talks regarding growing up in a family of showmen and what meaning the fair has for her. Listen now here in the player or wherever podcasts are available (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)!
