The decree on education courses in relational, emotional and sexual life, says Evras, is highly debated in Belgium. To the point that foreign media became interested in the issue. This is the case of CNews, which came to meet Paul Magnette to discuss this very divisive subject.
Except that the interview quickly ended between the journalist present on site and the mayor of Charleroi (PS) who completely refused the discussion with the French media. “I’m not answering you. You are a far-right channel and partly responsible for what is happening,” he said. “Your channel has been condemned for inciting hatred and violence. What we experience here is exactly that. Media like you spread fake news and make people think that violence is the only solution.” Firmly, he closes the sequence by explaining: “It’s a position of principle, period”.
New school fire in Montignies-sur-Sambre: for Paul Magnette, “we must continue to fight once morest barbarity and human stupidity”
“Belgium is France but worse”
This sequence was broadcast on the set of Pascal Praud, one of the stars of the channel. “This gentleman is full of intelligence, tolerance and nuance. He’s a remarkable man,” replies the host. On the set, the columnist, Olivier Duhamel outbids him. “We see that he is a man of culture. He is not the equivalent of the Insoumis by chance?”, he wonders. “Wallonia is on the left. You will notice that the program does not exist in Flanders,” replies a consultant. “Belgium is France but worse,” concludes another.
As a reminder, CNews was indeed condemned for provoking hatred. The president of the PS is therefore right on this point since it was Eric Zemmour who was pinned on the television channel. The former candidate for the Elysée was fined 10,000 euros. He notably described unaccompanied minor migrants as “thieves”, “murderers” and “rapists”.
