Reports of cyberbullying and sextortion among adolescents have increased by 150% in the last six months, according to a report from the Canadian organization Cybertip.
Listen to Chloé-Anne Touma, editor-in-chief of CScience magazine, who is interested in the impacts of technologies on young people.
In his opinion, the main problem is the lack of clear laws to counter sextortion and cyberbullying.
According to a study by the online protection company McAfee, 78% of young Quebecers who are victims of cyberbullying do not seek help. A quarter of young people also say they hide the situation from their parents.
