New York – The conspicuous male dominance in the line-up of speakers at the UN general debate in New York has reignited the debate regarding the lack of gender equality at the United Nations. Around six hours following the start of the event and following 15 men on the podium, the first woman, Hungarian President Katalin Novák, took the lectern on Tuesday. In total, there were three women among the around 35 speakers announced on Tuesday, and four of the almost 40 on Wednesday.
