Written by Mahmoud Ragheb Wednesday, September 20, 2023 03:00 AM Tomorrow, Thursday, September 21, the Earth will witness the moon with the star Antares, as the moon will be seen in conjunction with the star Antares Antares with the healthy naked eye following sunset and nightfall on that day in the Egyptian sky. Antares (Antares) is a red giant star with a mass 10 times the mass of the Sun and 600 light-years away from Earth. This conjunction can be seen until sunset, approximately 10:30 pm. Dr. Ashraf Tadros, professor of astronomy at the National Institute for Astronomical Research, confirmed that the time of occurrence of the astronomical phenomena that will be referred to in the following lines corresponds to the sky of Cairo, explaining that the best places to observe astronomical phenomena in general are on the coasts, fields, deserts, prairies, and mountains. The professor of astronomy at the National Institute for Astronomical Research confirmed in his statements that there is no relationship between the movement of celestial bodies and the fate of man on Earth, as this is not part of astronomy at all, but rather part of astrology, and astrology is among the false matters related to divination and the occult, such as reading palms and cups, striking farewells, playing cards, and so on. If astrology were a science, we astronomers would be the first people to study it. He pointed out that there is no relationship between the alignment of the planets in the sky and the occurrence of earthquakes on Earth. If that were true, it would have been discovered by astronomers hundreds of years ago, stressing that astronomical phenomena are fun to watch and amateurs love to follow and photograph them, provided that the weather is clear and the sky is free of clouds, dust, and water vapor. He added that nocturnal phenomena do not have any harm to human health or daily activity on Earth, while daytime phenomena related to the sun may be dangerous to the human eye because looking at the sun with the naked eye generally harms the eye a lot.
