There it is once more: the warning of the European Union becoming increasingly dependent on a third country. While this became apparent with Russia’s war of aggression once morest Ukraine, when energy supplies were suddenly in jeopardy, it is now increasingly the case with China. The focus of the Spanish EU Council Presidency has recently been on lithium-ion batteries (LI batteries) and fuel cells. Especially with the former, the dependency is more obvious than with hardly any other product. And this despite the fact that, from the current perspective, batteries practically form the backbone of the energy and, above all, transport transition.
