Omar Hilal, director of the film Foy Foy Foy, apologized to the press and media, following angering journalists at the film’s press conference.
Hilal wrote on his personal Facebook account: “A clarification regarding the press. Some words are being circulated indicating that I misresponded to a journalist’s question.”
He continued: Firstly, I am sorry if this response was taken as a mockery, as it was not. Rather, it was an explanation of “joy and laughter” with a journalist. I felt that he was lighthearted when he did an interview with me regarding the reply. I am sorry if I joked with you.”
He continued: “By God, I don’t mean it. The atmosphere was delicious and people were celebrating the movie, and I felt that you personally are a person who loves jokes.”
He added: “All appreciation and respect to the press, media and critics, and how might it not be when you are the ones who have the credit for this story and the film. Thank you.”
A number of news website correspondents criticized the way director Omar Hilal and artist Mohamed Farrag dealt with the press conference for the movie “Foy, Foy, Foy.”
