A state of sadness dominated the Egyptian artistic community following the death of the artist Ashraf Moselhi at the age of 49, following a years-long struggle with cancer.
The artist had been absent from the artistic scene in recent years due to illness, but his family did not disclose his condition until shortly before his passing.
In a phone call with the Egyptian Al-Mehwar satellite channel, director Manal Al-Saifi spoke regarding the last moments of her husband’s life.
She confirmed that 3 years ago he was diagnosed with brain cancer, which is classified as one of the most dangerous types of cancer.
She indicated that her husband underwent successful surgery at that time and recovered, but the cancer reappeared once more, but Moselhi was not informed of this.
The deceased’s wife explained that what happened was a natural progression of this type of cancer, stressing that in his last days he did not feel bad, saying, “He did not feel any need.”
The Egyptian director confirmed that her husband took good care of his health, ate healthy food and was keen to exercise, and he did not smoke or drink alcohol, “but in the end it is God’s will,” as she put it.
Her husband passed away and left behind 4 children. His wife confirmed that he “enjoyed everyone’s love, and he received visits from all members of the artistic community,” asking his fans to pray for him following his passing.
