Training, available free of charge until 2025, covers knowledge regarding basic concepts, application at work, ethical considerations and the impact of tools in today’s society
Microsoft, in collaboration with LinkedIn, recently announced the launch of “Career Essentials in Generative AI by Microsoft and LinkedIn,” a free learning program available on LinkedIn through 2025 that offers Brazilian professionals an opportunity to delve deeper into the essential skills of this technology. Composed of five modules, the course aims to address the demand for qualified professionals in technology and develop digital skills relevant to today’s world of work, such as mastering AI. At the end, participants will have access to a Career Essentials certificate upon completion of the test of knowledge.
The first training session requires 4 hours of dedication and has five courses: What is Generative Artificial Intelligence?; Generative Artificial Intelligence: The Evolution of Online Reflective Researchwhich introduces the differences between search engines and reasoning mechanisms, emphasizing the learning of reflective search strategies in the universe of Generative AI; Making Work Easier with Microsoft Bing Chatwhich shows how the tool can be used to facilitate and automate some jobs, increasing productivity; Ethics in the Era of Generative Artificial Intelligencewhich brings ethical considerations to be incorporated into the process of creating and implementing Generative AI with some ways to address these challenges and, finally, the Introduction to Artificial Intelligencewhich introduces the main tools in today’s artificial intelligence.
“AI has been used in companies and organizations for some time, but in the last year it has gained even more strength and represents immense potential for business and society. It is necessary to offer access and training so that people can train themselves in this technology and expand their employability opportunities both for new job positions and to add more resources to the tasks they perform in their current jobs”, says Lucia Rodrigues, Philanthropy leader at Microsoft Brazil.
How to access the course
The course has subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese and those who access the Generative AI learning path will have an overview of the “Career Essentials in Generative AI” course. In this environment, it is possible to access each of the modules and explore the classes contained in them. Within each video, there are options to customize the subtitles and speed, access exercise files and general course notes, questions and answers, as well as the transcription. There is also space for taking notes and sharing questions.
To activate the subtitle: (1) click on the ‘cc’ icon, located at the bottom right of the screen; (2) then select the “Portuguese (auto-translated)” option from the list of available languages. Subtitles in Portuguese will automatically be displayed.
Live and Online Meeting: AI Explained
On September 26th, Microsoft is also promoting the IA Explained meeting, which takes place online at 11am. Interested parties must register at this link. The aim of the event is to explain the fundamentals of generative AI and explore how it is helping people create, solve complex problems and improve their surroundings. The agenda will include a preview of new technologies that are emerging, as well as free tools, resources and training to help you stay up to date with the AI skills that will be increasingly in demand in the job market.
