The 29-year-old German went on a tour to the summit of Mahdlgupf with two friends on Saturday. It was around 12:45 p.m. when the woman was suddenly hit by a falling stone at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level in the area of the “washboard” section. The 29-year-old was injured in her left collarbone and was no longer able to continue climbing.
She was rescued by the team from the emergency medical helicopter “Martin 3” using rope rescue and flown to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck with injuries of an unspecified degree.
Accident witnesses wanted
The police are asking eyewitnesses to contact the Gmunden police station on 059133/4100.
