Swedish Olympic champion Armand Duplantis set a new world record in the pole vault by jumping 6.23 m on Sunday during the finals of the Athletics Diamond League in Eugene (Oregon, United States).
At 23, the double outdoor world champion broke the world record for the seventh time, which he had raised to 6.22 m in February in Clermont-Ferrand.
On February 8, 2020, ‘Mondo’ Duplantis began making history by jumping 6m17 in Torun, Poland, his first world record. He has since gained centimeter by centimeter to now set the mark at 6m23. Last week, he tried, unsuccessfully, to pass the bar to 6m23 at the Van Damme Memorial.
