It took 47 days to travel from one house to another in Pathanamthitta. Don’t be surprised by the length of the day. He is traveling from his home in London to his home in Waryapuram, Pathanamthitta. Then the days will be so long. And that too if the journey is in one’s own car. Rajesh Krishna, a native of Waryapuram, Pathanamthitta and film producer, is giving an answer through his own journey to those who are surprised to hear it. Rajesh’s journey home, which took 47 days to complete, has already garnered attention. Rajesh’s journey was alone, crossing many countries and crossing kilometers. While many people undertake cross-country journeys, Rajesh’s purpose for his journey alone was also different. The aim was to raise money for a children’s charity organization named following a friend’s son, Ryan, who died of cancer, and a pain and palliative organization in Kozhikode. Rajesh ended his dream trip by promoting the travel goal in many countries and transferring the financial assistance received during the trip directly to the accounts of the organizations. Rajesh’s journey started on July 26 from Highwickham, London. The journey was through more than 20 countries, more than 75 important cities, hundreds of unfamiliar people, many cultures, diverse food and so on. Rajesh left the journey alone to travel in his own freedom, on his own decision. What led to this decision was that you cannot do things on your own if someone else is with you. The journey ended in Pathanamthitta, crossing more than 20 countries including Western countries, Arab countries, China and Nepal and covering more than 20,000 kilometers by car. Despite the beautiful travel experiences, the faces of all those lost in the earthquake in Turkey are etched in Rajesh’s mind. I can’t forget the love I felt even from strangers in Iran. Rajesh says that he faced the most scrutiny while traveling in China. I remember that it took me 12 hours to travel 120 km in Nepal due to bad roads and I drove up to 16 hours a day. “The journey was in a Volvo X60 car. Apart from London and India, all the other countries he traveled to were left-hand driving, so he traveled very carefully in a right-hand drive vehicle. Therefore, he tried to avoid traveling at night. Rajesh, who has done many journeys including the Himalayan journey, tried to travel from London to Kerala by car in 2018. But that trip was stopped when Pakistan refused to get a visa. After not getting a visa, he decided to change Pakistan and travel through China. He even gave up his position as an assistant producer at BBC. Currently, Rajesh is in the business field. His wife Aruna Nair works at the Cancer Research Center in London. Read on deshabhimani.com
