The speech of the organizer of the demonstration sets the tone: anti-Evras, but also anti-LGBT, anti-decriminalization of abortion, in particular. So many subjects which will also be the subject of opposition slogans during the demonstration, in the same way as anti-feminist, anti-CAL (Secular Action Center) slogans, for example, all taken up in an amalgam of which would “destroy the family”.
And of course, in the crowd, many signs were held up more specifically targeting Evras. “Don’t touch our children“, “Our children are innocent“, “No sexuality before puberty“, as many slogans as one might read. “Evras confronts our children with seeing things that are not suited to them” or, “the parliamentarians of the Wallonia Brussels Federation dared to appropriate the notion of the good of the child“, we were also able to note during this Sunday’s demonstration.
Among the demonstrators, there were families, Catholic activists, people from the Muslim community, in particular. A call for demonstrations was launched in certain Brussels mosques. And beyond ideologies, there were also simply worried parents, who questioned themselves, often deceived, lulled by the untruths present on social networks.
We also noted the presence of associations such as “Bons sens Belgique”, but also “Innocence in danger” whose role in the circulation of anti-Evras ideas has already been highlighted.
