The organizers of the Vienna Electric Days 2023 draw a very positive conclusion from this unique outdoor event. The transformation to electromobility is a major lever for reducing CO2 emissions. The Vienna Electric Days are considered a game-changer event and send a clear signal for a cross-industry dialogue in the interests of climate protection.
Visitors were able to examine the wide range of new electric cars and electric two-wheelers at Vienna’s Rathausplatz from September 13th to 17th. There was also professional exchange and personal advice on the important future topic of e-mobility. The question of how we as a society can achieve the mobility transition on all transport routes (road, rail, air, water) was the focus of this year’s Electric Days. Top-class panel discussions discussed the clear commitment to battery-electric mobility, future-oriented ownership models and the associated digital possibilities. But political and social aspects in connection with individual mobility, battery technology, its second life (“second life”), the status and outlook for the expansion of the public electric charging infrastructure were also exciting topics of discussion that provided information regarding the big topic of e-mobility contributed. This year, Austria’s largest e-mobility event scored points for the first time with numerous Austrian premieres of series models and pioneering concept cars and studies. Michael Ludwig, Mayor of the City of Vienna, took part in the opening and the first tour including the presentation of the Austrian premieres on September 13th. before.
As part of the Vienna Electric Days on the evening of September 13th. Top-class business leaders at a panel discussion in the arcade courtyard of Vienna City Hall provided insight into sustainable mobility of the future. Compliance with climate goals, the role of e-mobility as well as the importance of innovation, openness to technology and the expansion of the electricity network were rousingly discussed in front of around 500 invited guests. The impetus for this was two exciting keynote speeches by futurologist Mathias Horx and Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen AG and Porsche AG.
On Thursday, September 14th The 13th vie:mobility Next Generation Symposium took place. This event featured four podiums covering the topics of business location, energy crisis, logistics and the latest electric models. For the first time, vie-mobility was held on Vienna’s Rathausplatz as part of the Vienna Electric Days. vie-mobility organizer Ralph Vallon was able to welcome a number of high-profile panelists such as Wien Holding managing director Oliver Stribl, BIP board member Johann Breiteneder, Vienna location lawyer Alexander Biach from WKW, Stefan Gubi, CEO Windhager, the deputy. AR chairman of the Wiener Stadtwerke Andrea Faast, Henn managing director Martin Ohneberg, Sozialbau board chairman Ernst Bach and Christian Pesau, managing director of the Austrian automobile importers in the IV.
It’s time to be open to new things and change
The Wiener Elektro Tage took this path and literally offered a new generation of newcomer bands a big stage right in the heart of the federal capital Vienna. Lukas Leon, Sarah Machac, Neon Neet, Megan, Deladap, Anna Buchegger, The Belgian Blue, DJ Prince Moe and LEMO were the sensational new music acts at the Vienna Electro Days 2023 with free entry.
