One of the most famous Russian songwriters, Nikolai Dobronravov, died in Moscow at the age of 94. Singer Nikolai Baskov announced this on his social media account.
“I just found out that Nikolai Nikolaevich Dobronravov has passed away…” the artist wrote.
Nikolai Dobronravov was born on November 22, 1928. He graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School named following Nemirovich-Danchenko. In 1970 he joined the Russian Writers’ Union.
His songs were performed by all the luminaries of the Soviet stage: Anna German, Lyudmila Zykina, Muslim Magomaev, Valentina Tolkunova, Joseph Kobzon, Lev Leshchenko, Sofia Rotaru, Nonna Mordyukova, Edita Piekha, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Alexander Gradsky, Sergey Penkin, Eduard KhilVIA “Gems”, “Syabry”, “Pesnyary”.
The most popular and beloved songs by Russian listeners were the songs “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”, “The main thing, guys, is not to grow old in your heart”, “Goodbye, Moscow”, “Starfall”, “How young we were”, “The team of our youth”, “A coward is not plays hockey”, “Bird of Happiness” and many, many others.
Awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II and III degrees.
Since 1956 he was married to the composer Alexandra Pakhmutova. Their creative union lasted 67 years. In all of Dobronravov’s most famous hits, the author of the music is Pakhmutova.
