Viewers knew “Prodiges”, but this Saturday September 16, they discovered “Prodiges Pop”, on France 2. As with the original show, it was Faustine Bollaert who presented this musical show. For this pop version, the jury was made up of choreographer Blanca Li, trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf and singer Chimène Badi. These three judges had the difficult task of selecting three talents out of five in their respective category (dance, playing a musical instrument and finally singing) to take them to the final of “Prodiges Pop”. And these 15 young prodigies were aged 9 to 16.
“We lost the DNA of the show”
If the original show “Prodiges” is very appreciated by the French, its pop version has somewhat divided Internet users. Subscribers to X (formerly Twitter) regretted the DNA of the program. For them, the five singers present on stage might have participated in “The Voice”, the TF1 show. “Unfortunately the singing category in Prodiges Pop is not of much interest, it looks too much like The Voice kids,” lamented a user of of those in “Prodigies”. Between “boredom” and “disappointment”, the social network’s subscribers were not convinced by this variation.
