Unbalanced core, jamming of stars, bad choice of coach, disastrous management of goalkeepers are among the countless management errors which have been committed in recent years and which have given, to the point of caricature, the image of a sailing club on sight and run by its own players.
But by observing the core built this season, we perhaps see a glimmer of hope for the Parisian supporter…
Mercato: Marco Verratti and PSG, it’s over! Here is his new club
There is only one real big star left at the club: Kylian Mbappé
First there was this choice to make Luis Enrique the coach of this team. A wise choice because in my opinion the Spanish coach brings together all the qualities to succeed where all his predecessors failed. He is in fact one of the rare ones capable of bringing order to a complicated Parisian locker room by inspiring respect thanks to his experience and his natural authority. In addition, he knows the path to the Grail since he won the Champions League as Barça coach. Finally, Enrique has clear tactical ideas and knows how to make stars work together. Even if, unlike his predecessors, he will not have to manage a multitude of star egos. And this is undoubtedly the big (r)evolution at PSG this season; there is only one real big star left at the club: Kylian Mbappé! We always wonder how he ended up staying following a soap opera that only PSG is capable of producing. Still, in addition to keeping the best player in the world, they surrounded him well by choosing (or was it Mbappé who chose?) complementary profiles and, moreover, accustomed to playing with him as a team of France.
If we add a solid midfield and defense revamped with adequate profiles, hungry reserves as well as a clear hierarchy in terms of goalkeepers, we obtain a favorite for the final victory of the Champions League and – I didn’t think I’d ever write it – my favorite…
