A one-year-old boy was seriously injured in an accident with a lawn mower in Tyrol on Saturday. At around 3 p.m. in the town of Waidring (Kitzbühel district), the little boy got his right arm caught in the running blade of a lawnmower that his 45-year-old father was using to do work and, according to the police, sustained serious injuries. The toddler was flown with his father by an emergency helicopter to the Salzburg State Hospital.
The 45-year-old Austrian was busy mowing on a site. As he pushed the running petrol lawn mower backwards on a steep section, his one-year-old son, unbeknownst to him, moved from the sandpit behind him into the steep slope, causing him to fall. The man tried to turn the running lawn mower away from his son, but he was no longer able to do so.
