The comedian and actor Russell Brand He was accused of rape and a series of sexual, physical and emotional abuses by four women.
According BBCthe reported events took place between 2006 and 2013 when Katy Perry’s ex-husband was at his peak.
After learning of the allegations, Brand denied their veracity and assured that all of his relationships have always been with “consensual.”
Abusive and predatory behavior
The investigation, carried out jointly by the Sunday Times, the Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches, also revealed allegations that Brand engaged in controlling, abusive and predatory behaviour.
Of the five women who denounce Brand for various situations, four are for sexual assault.
The Times noted that it saw a medical record that shows that one of the women was treated at a center that helps rape victims, the same day she was allegedly sexually assaulted by Brand.
Another of those affected said that Brand sexually attacked her when she was 16 years old and he was over 30, and that he maintained abusive and controlling behavior towards her.
The third complainant stated that she worked with the actor in Los Angeles and he sexually assaulted her, then threatened her with legal action if she spoke regarding it.
Meanwhile, the fourth woman who accuses him also indicated that she was a victim of sexual, physical and emotional abuse by Russell.
Russel Brand denies the accusations
In a video posted on his social networks, Brand said that he would be accused of “serious criminal” acts, but that they were false and that he found out because a television channel and a newspaper contacted him.
“Amid this litany of surprising and rather baroque attacks, there are some very serious accusations that I absolutely refute”he expressed.
“These accusations refer to the time when he worked for the masses, when he appeared in the newspapers all the time, when he appeared in the movies and, as I have written at length in my books, he was very, very promiscuous.”he indicated.
“Now, during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely and always consensual”he assured.
According to Brand, he is the victim of a “coordinated attack.”
Between the years in which the events were reported, Brand enjoyed great popularity, as he was a presenter on BBC Radio 2, Channel 4 and also acted in some films in Hollywood.
Likewise, he was married to the singer Katy Perry between 2010 and 2012, which boosted his fame.
