AUC Venture Lab (V-Lab) presents itself as the 1st university accelerator in Egypt. Founded in 2013 by Ayman Ismail, associate professor at the American University in Cairo (AUC) School of Business, it aims to assist business creators in the start-up, growth and transformation of their young businesses. It also aims to provide the AUC community with a learning and research platform, thus promoting its involvement with entrepreneurs.

To achieve its goals, V-Lab is developing several programs, including Startup Accelerator, Fintech Accelerator, AUC Angels and Startup Launchpad. Startup Accelerator is a 4-month program whose mission is to help entrepreneurs design and develop the next generation of technological and innovative start-ups. The accelerator’s flagship program has been supporting entrepreneurs since 2013.

Fintech Accelerator is a personalized, four-month program for fintech startups that provides founders with intensive business and technology support, mentoring and networking opportunities to help them refine their solutions and prepare for launch. investment. The targeted sectors are payments, insurtech, wealth management, loans and savings, infrastructure, etc.

Startup Launchpad is a nine-week immersive program for entrepreneurs and aspiring founders at the idea stage. As for AUC Angels is the leading academic network of angel investors in the Middle East and North Africa. Created with the aim of filling the funding gap for technology startups, the network connects vetted startups with accomplished professionals from diverse industries and backgrounds.

To date, V-Lab has already helped over 1,000 founders turn their business solutions into viable, investment-ready technology startups. V-Lab has received several national and international awards for its impact and the quality of its services in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
