Last weekend, a tragic discovery took place, not far from the Marsupilami roundregarding in Charleroi, as our colleagues at Sudinfo report to us.
A 27-year-old homeless man, Jordy, was found dead in his tent, where he had lived for several months without anyone noticing. Another homeless man, Willy, who had crossed paths with the young man on occasion in the night shelters, explained that “it had been months since he had seen him”.
Willy also pointed out that the street can make you lose sight of the people you meet, specifying that the young man was actually a rather nice person. The circumstances of his death are terrible: he had set up camp in land at the back of an academy, difficult to access from the outside due to the gates and died alone, to general indifference.
The causes of death are not yet known. It was the Fontaine-Fostier funeral directors in Gilly, called by the authorities, who were able to confirm that Jordy had probably been dead for at least six months. The funeral took place this Thursday.
