This year’s competition has the theme of “Skills become talents, skills serve the country”. 4,045 contestants from 36 delegations across the country participated in the competition, competing for medals in 109 projects. A 58-year-old “old master”, a 16-year-old “little craftsman”, students, and corporate employees compete on the same stage.

Wang Xiaoping, Minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, introduced at the opening ceremony that the National Skills Competition is my country’s comprehensive national vocational skills competition with the highest specifications, the most projects, the largest scale, the highest level, and the widest influence. The competition aims to use competitions to promote training, competitions to promote training, and competitions to promote construction, and to continuously improve the training, use, evaluation, and incentive mechanisms for skilled talents.

Compared with the previous one, the scale of this competition has been expanded and increased to keep pace with the development situation. The contestants have gone through layers of selections from enterprise or school skills competitions, industry skills competitions, and provincial skills competitions, and stood out from hundreds of thousands of contestants, representing the highest level of domestic skills competition in related projects.

Judging from the identity of the contestants, there has been a significant increase in the number of contestants who are employees and highly educated contestants. Among the contestants, the number of employee contestants increased 7.6 times compared with the first competition. Among the student contestants, students from colleges, technical secondary schools and technical schools accounted for 89.5%. In addition, there are 25 doctors, 546 masters, and 1,131 undergraduates. Most of the highly educated contestants are concentrated in the fields of new occupations and digital technology skills, indicating the general trend of integrated development of technical skills and the impact on the improvement of the technical skills of talents with different academic levels. Demand increases.

The event setting of this competition is full of innovation. Compared with the first competition, this competition has added 20 new occupations and digital technology skills competitions, such as all-media operations, Internet marketing, etc. These competitions will enhance the social identity of practitioners in new occupations and promote employment. Entrepreneurship is of great significance. At the same time, five new professional and technical competition projects, including intelligent manufacturing engineering technology and artificial intelligence engineering technology, are more in line with the trend of integrated development of technical skills.

According to reports, this competition will last for four days, and the closing ceremony will be held on September 19. At that time, not only will awards be given to the winners, but Tianjin City will also hand over the flag to Henan Province, where the third competition will be held.
