The Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care, is implementing the national oral and dental health campaign, which will continue until the end of this month.
The campaign, which focuses on general oral and dental health, aims to raise awareness among members of society, including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, to establish the concept of “a healthy mouth in a healthy body” and change negative habits that affect oral and dental health, especially smoking and eating foods and drinks full of sugar. .
The campaign encourages following a healthy diet and reducing sugar in food and drinks, with the aim of reducing the rate of caries in children, which reached 85% in the 2017 national survey for the age group between 4 and 8 years. It also aims to raise awareness regarding the importance of daily oral care at home and enhance communication between children. Dental services and prevention departments in various medical institutions with different sectors of society.
The campaign is part of the outcomes of the National Committee for Oral and Dental Health, as it includes publishing educational awareness publications regarding oral and dental health in general, through the social media platforms of the Ministry of Public Health and the social platforms of health sector partners, in addition to display screens at the public entrances of government and private hospitals and health centers.
The campaign also includes educational awareness lectures on the importance of oral and dental health for students of a number of public and private primary, middle and secondary schools, presented by specialized doctors from the Primary Health Care Corporation.
