Broken plane: Van der Bellen couldn’t go to the UN

Due to a technical problem with an AUA machine and a lack of a replacement, Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen was unable to leave for the UN General Assembly in New York on Saturday morning as planned. Accordingly, Van der Bellen should have taken off from Vienna with his Slovenian counterpart Nataša Pirc Musar at 10:10 a.m. The trip will now take place later via Montreal, according to initial media reports.

The affected aircraft had to return to Vienna yesterday, Friday, due to the technical problem on the way to Chicago; A repair is necessary, the AUA does not have a replacement machine available.
