Tennis coach Andrew Geddes has been in prison since 2021 for sexual abuse.

Now one of his victims testified before a special commission.

Angelique Cauchy, now 36, reports on Geddes’ atrocities.

The perpetrator is already behind bars. Tennis coach Andrew Geddes was sentenced to 18 years in prison. This is because the 55-year-old was found guilty of sexually abusing four minors. The victims (between 12 and 17) reported Geddes together, and he was convicted in 2021. One of the victims recently testified before a special commission of the French Parliament. It is 36-year-old Angelique Cauchy.

The current sports teacher said: “Geddes raped me more than 400 times in two years.” It started when Gauchy was twelve years old. “I experienced a nightmare,” said Gauchy, who thought regarding suicide several times. At first Geddes only visited the bed at training camps for fun. It became more and there were up to three rapes a day.

The club looked the other way

Gauchy says: “I asked him to stop and repeated day following day: ‘Don’t touch me, that’s not right. I don’t want that.” Geddes ignored everything and kept going. He also told Gauchy that he was HIV positive. “I lived with the thought that I might have AIDS for ten or 15 years,” said the former tennis ace.

Geddes was able to continue like this for a long time because others simply looked the other way. Another witness said she contacted the tennis club. But the president just said that might be the case, but Geddes would bring them titles – nothing was done. Gauchy made her statements before the special commission that is investigating further cases of abuse in French tennis. The results of this examination are to be made public in December.
