Following the opinion delivered this Friday, September 15 by the Committee for Monitoring and Anticipation of Health Risks (COVARS), which recommends offering a dose of vaccine once morest Covid-19 now to people most at risk , the most vulnerable people are invited to be vaccinated once morest Covid-19 from October 2 instead of October 17.
In the current context of greater circulation of the virus, and while the vaccination of elderly and fragile people constitutes an issue of prime importance, Aurélien Rousseau seized COVARS last week on the start schedule of the autumn campaign of vaccination once morest Covid-19.
Vaccines adapted to the majority circulating variant (XBB1.5) are now available in sufficient quantities in France, and are effective once morest different variants and once morest the severe forms of Covid-19. They also help limit the risk of being hospitalized.
The COVARS, chaired by Professor Brigitte Autranrecommended to the Government:
