Following the opinion delivered this Friday, September 15 by the Committee for Monitoring and Anticipation of Health Risks (COVARS), which recommends offering a dose of vaccine once morest Covid-19 now to people most at risk , the most vulnerable people are invited to be vaccinated once morest Covid-19 from October 2 instead of October 17.

In the current context of greater circulation of the virus, and while the vaccination of elderly and fragile people constitutes an issue of prime importance, Aurélien Rousseau seized COVARS last week on the start schedule of the autumn campaign of vaccination once morest Covid-19.

Vaccines adapted to the majority circulating variant (XBB1.5) are now available in sufficient quantities in France, and are effective once morest different variants and once morest the severe forms of Covid-19. They also help limit the risk of being hospitalized.

The COVARS, chaired by Professor Brigitte Autranrecommended to the Government:

  • To bring forward the vaccination campaign once morest Covid-19 to the beginning of Octoberin order to allow the most vulnerable people (people aged over 65 or with risk factors, and healthcare professionals) to benefit from a booster dose as soon as possible;
  • To maintain the launch of the anti-flu vaccination campaign on October 17recommending, from this date, that vulnerable people carry out a simultaneous double vaccination once morest Covid and the flu.

The Minister of Health and Prevention made the decision to follow the committee’s opinion. Since then, the most vulnerable people will therefore be able to receive, from October 2a booster dose once morest Covid-19. The campaign of vaccination antigrippale will begin, for its part, the October 17.

It is important to remember that vaccination once morest Covid-19 remains possible et free for anyone who wants it.

Vaccination once morest Covid-19 is available to city health professionals : at your GP (general practitioner or specialist), in a pharmacy, in a nurse’s office, in a midwife’s office. Some of these health professionals may agree to come to your home to administer this vaccination. All information on vaccination locations is available on www.sante.fr.

Faced with Covid-19 and acute respiratory infections, we have all the solutions to fight epidemics and protect the most vulnerable, with vaccination and simple gestures :

  • Ventilate or ventilate the premises ;
  • Perform very regular hand hygienewith soap and water or by hydroalcoholic friction;
  • Wearing a mask is recommended for people with a positive test diagnosis, for symptomatic people, for everyone in closed, crowded and poorly ventilated places, during periods of virus circulation, for people who have had contact with a positive person, for people at risk of developing serious forms as well as people who associate with them.
