Former Russian Commander-in-Chief Sergei Surovikin’s Visit to Algeria Revealed: Exclusive Photos

The former commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Russian Army General Sergei Surovikin, is in Algeria. His photo was published by Boris Rozhin, an expert at the Center for Military-Political Journalism.

“General Surovikin and other representatives of the Ministry of Defense in Algeria,” Rozhin wrote. He published photographs of the former commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces on his Telegram channel.

Earlier in the telegram channel of blogger Sergei Kolyasnikov (known as Zergulio) a photo appeared Sergei Surovikin. The blogger confirmed that the general was attending the event outside of Russia. Later, the telegram channel “VChK-OGPU” wrote that the photograph of Surovikin was made in Algeria. He arrived in this country to meet with the leadership of the military department of the Republic.

After the failed armed rebellion of the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, rumors appeared regarding the disappearance of Sergei Surovikin. At the same time, the chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov, said on July 12 that he was on vacation, and therefore was not available. Later, reports appeared that the general and his deputy Andrei Yudin were allegedly in a pre-trial detention center in Moscow Lefortovo. However, Yudin denied the informationstating that he was on vacation.

The former commander of a group of troops in the Northern Military District zone, Sergei Surovikin, was relieved of his post as commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces in August. Deputy and retired Colonel General Viktor Zavarzin said that he is currently has a “good” position.
