PTamil audiences are receptive to experimental films. Tem Loop, Tem Travel and survival thrillers are also being released in Tamil. Another addition to the mix is the new gangster-themed travel film Marc Anthony. On the other hand, S. who is not averse to experimental films has become the main character. J Surya and Vishal who earns KT through action films. The film is directed by Adhik Ravichandran.
How would it be if the characters of a gangster story were controlled through time travel, where murders are not new, Mark Antony is such an experiment. The film tells the story of 1975 and 1995. As seen in the trailer, the term travel is possible through the telephone. The film does not involve the characters traveling through different eras as seen in the usual time travel films. Instead, the film is made in such a way that the events of the past are influenced by the use of the telephone, a time travel machine from the present.
The story revolves around gangsters Anthony and Jackie. It can be said that these are the most feared villains. Vishal as Anthony and S. as Jackie. J Surya also plays the role. Mark and Pandyan are the sons of both who rule the gangsters. It is Vishal who arrives as Antony’s son Mark. Pandyan S. J Surya also plays the role. What if Mark and Pandian were able to change the events of Anthony and Jackie’s life in 1975, change their entire story? How will that change change the children? The film has presented this theme in an interesting and mass appeal manner.
The film is set in the background of comedy without going into any of the technical aspects of how the term trowel is possible. The film is a fun ride with action, humor and theme travel. The director has chosen interesting moments in Tem Travel without telling the story in a serious way. Telugu actor Sunil plays an important character in the film, Ekambara. Abhinaya and Ritu Verma are the heroines of the film. Selvaraghavan plays the role of a scientist. Other stars are Kingsley and YG Mahendran.
Vishal and S. who will play a double role. In the film, you can see J Surya competing once morest each other. While Vishal’s Antony becomes synonymous with Mass, S delivers a stylish performance through humorous moments. J Surya’s Jackie. Both the actors have tried to give different looks to the characters of the two eras. The director has adopted a presentation method where the villain and the hero alternate.
The background music of the film is the helet of the film. Whenever Vishal appears as Antony in mass scenes, the background music elevates the film to another level. The addition of comedy scenes to mass also helped the film as a workout. Another feature of the film is the spectacular making. Some surprise scenes are added to the film. Vishal is scoring big as usual in action scenes. While Vishal is full in the first half, the second half is filled with mannerisms and screen space. J Surya is doing it in his own name.
GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music for the film. Cinematography by Abhinandan Ramanujam and editing by Vijay Velukkutty. The action sequences are choreographed by Peter Hein along with Dilip Subbarayan, Kanal Kannan and Dinesh Subbarayan. Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames is bringing the film to theaters in Kerala. The film is a visual treat for fans of J Surya and Vishal. ‘Mark Antony’ is a film that those who like action films and experimental films can enjoy watching in theaters.
