Yakutia has entered another epidemic season of acute respiratory viral infections, including coronavirus. As YSIA was informed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic, the greatest increase in morbidity with the end of the holidays is observed among children.

According to the agency, among the circulating respiratory viruses, rhinoviruses predominate; PC viruses, adenoviruses and parainfluenza viruses are also found. It is also noted that in the spring-summer period, the incidence of COVID-19 was recorded at a non-epidemic level, but now the situation has changed.

“Currently, in parallel with the growth of ARVI, there is a seasonal increase in the incidence of new coronavirus infection, mainly in Yakutsk,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Health told YSIA.

The Ministry of Health recommends the following preventive measures:

• reduce the time spent in crowded places;
• when visiting enclosed spaces, crowded places, or on public transport, wear disposable medical masks;
• regularly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap or use an antiseptic;
• try to maintain social distance;
• if signs of ARVI appear, stay home, do not self-medicate, call a doctor.

“At the same time, we remind you that now is the optimal period for vaccination once morest influenza: influenza viruses are not circulating in the republic, the incidence of viral respiratory infections has not reached its peak. We invite residents of Yakutsk and its districts to clinics at their place of residence for vaccination once morest influenza,” the Ministry of Health of Yakutia urged.
