Drug Dealing in Yongsan: Investigation of Police Officer’s Death Reveals Shocking Details

On the 27th of last month, the police discovered that a current police officer who fell to his death during a meeting at an apartment in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, was involved in drug dealing.

Seoul Yongsan Police Station arrested 35-year-old Moon on charges of selling drugs to the deceased Gangwon Police Agency police officer.

Chief Judge Jeong In-jae of the Seoul Western District Court in charge of warrants today issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Moon, saying that as a result of the substantive examination of the arrest warrant, there was a risk of destruction of evidence and flight.

While analyzing the deceased police officer’s cell phone, the police confirmed traces of drug transactions between Mr. Moon and the deceased police officer.

In addition, as a result of additional analysis of the CCTV of the apartment in Yongsan, where a group drug gathering was held on the day of the incident, one additional participant was confirmed, and a total of 22 people were found to have gathered in the apartment.

The police plan to soon receive the autopsy results of the deceased police officer from the National Institute of Forensic Science and analyze whether drugs were used and the exact cause of death.
