A man was shot dead with a weapon last night around 1 a.m., rue Wayez, in Anderlecht. According to our colleagues at Sud Info, the victim was hit by several Kalashnikov bullets. The federal judicial police in Brussels are leading the investigation, according to police spokesperson Sarah Frederickx.
“Our services were indeed called yesterday evening around 1:10 a.m. to rue Wayez in Anderlecht for a shooting,” specifies a police press release. “The victim died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The suspects fled and a vehicle was found burned further away. The Federal Police Forensic Laboratory arrived on the scene and the Federal Judicial Police are investigating .”
According to Sud Info, a car with four people on board hit the victim’s vehicle. Then, the occupants got out and fired at the victim’s car with a weapon of war, “perhaps a Kalashnikov”. The man was reportedly hit by 17 bullets, while 19 shell casings were found at the scene. The authors’ vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf, was later found in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean.
Also according to Sud Info, this is the third shooting in three nights in the town.
