A 14-year-old boy appeared in a Boston-area court on Monday following being charged with attempted murder, according to NBC Boston.

John Sheeran allegedly tried to drown a black teenager in a pond on July 19 on Cape Cod, an allegedly racist attack.

The event allegedly occurred in the presence of an accomplice who, while laughing, called the victim “George Floyd” because the latter might no longer breathe.

The 15-year-old victim of the attack claims that the two boys, including John Sheeran, threw rocks at him as soon as he arrived at Goose Neck Pond in the state of Massachusetts.

The bullies then allegedly forced him into the water. The young man would have put on his flotation vest since he did not know how to swim, police reported.

It was then that the accused allegedly swam towards his victim, grabbing him, dragging him underwater four or five times and calling him the “n” word.

The alleged victim yelled at him to stop because he mightn’t breathe, the report states.

The other boy, who is not currently facing any charges, “then started laughing and called me George Floyd, visibly mocking me and showing NO remorse,” the petitioner wrote in his police report, attests the New York Times.

A minor witness informed police that he heard the victim asking his alleged attacker not to push him due to his inability to swim.

He claims to have seen the two boys push the young man’s head into the water while he was screaming for help.

“When I arrived, both were smiling,” the witness said.

According to the accused’s lawyer, the accusations are “exaggerated.”

“This is clearly a game of horseplay that has gotten out of hand,” he told the Globe.

The same day, John Sheeran also allegedly hit a young Asian who called him fat, according to CBS.
