Seat is entering the world of electric scooters by launching the Mo 125, which is the subject of our test. For the latter, Seat has teamed up with another Spanish manufacturer, Silence.

The Seat Mo 125 essentially represents a rebadged version of the Silence S01. However, it surprises with its lower price than that of the Silence S01, which amounts to 5,800 euros, compared to 6,265 euros for the Silence S01. Both models have an announced range of 135 km thanks to their 5.6 kWh battery and reach a speed of 95 km/h. Find out what it’s worth in this test.

Design review of the Seat Mo 125

Technical characteristics

Couple : 240 Nm

Displacement: 125 cm3

Engine power : 7 KW

Transmission : rear wheel

Maximum speed : 95 km/h

Autonomy : 130 km

Prix : 5 900 €

Most electric scooters come from Asia, but the Mo was designed entirely in Spain, in Barcelona, Seat’s hometown. This little electric car was built in collaboration with Silence, another Catalan manufacturer specializing in electric two-wheelers. In reality, Seat’s innovation looks more like the S01 Silence model than any Seat vehicle.

But we can forgive this process, because the Seat Mo eScooter has the modern, sleek lines that an all-electric scooter deserves. This vehicle has a fully integrated LED lighting front and rear, as well as a bold color palette. Under the saddle is a large compartment that can hold shopping bags, a work computer or two helmets if desired.

Small downside to note, however: when the high beams are on, the side lights are deactivated. To improve visibility for other motorists, we would have appreciated if they worked in tandem. However, we cannot fault the aesthetics of this scooter, which is available in three colors.

Seat Mo 125 : analyse des performances

Indeed, the Mo 125 allows a quick start. This is due to rear hub motor who delivers 7 kW and a peak of 9 kW with a torque of 240 Nm. Its accelerator pedal is also very progressive.

During our test, we found this electric scooter more lively than a 125 cc petrol model, thanks to the torque of the electric motor. THE 0-50 km/h is done in 3.9 secondsmaking it much faster than electric mopeds in the European Union.

This scooter also has a reverse function. Unlike most of its counterparts, this 125cc scooter has a switch that makes it easier to turn off when cornering. However, it makes an annoying beeping sound once activated. We understand the logic of this device which allows pedestrians to be alerted, but we would have appreciated if it might be deactivated.

Innovative battery

Compared to other models, the Mo 125 has a uniquely designed battery. Indeed, unlike other models which require handling the compartment under the saddle or carrying heavy batteries with both hands. There battery de 5.6 kWh du Mo 125 can be carried as hand luggage.

Simply place the scooter on its central stand and pull a lever in the storage compartment to detach the battery.

This solution is much more interesting for those who need to recharge the battery outside. For example, at work or if they do not have a garage at home.

However, it presents other difficulties. As the battery pack only has two wheels, it can only be moved on flat surfaces. If there are stairs or even a high curb, you will be stuck, especially if you are going down a slope.

The autonomy of the scooter has been announced 137 km with the 5.6 kWh battery, which should be enough for most people. The more adventurous can purchase an additional battery, as the Seat Mo has a removable battery that weighs 41 kg.

A modest comfort

In terms of maneuverability, our test revealed that this 152 kg Seat Mo 125 scooter is easy to handle. Its comfort benefits from quality suspensions. The front fork helps pass speed bumps and a single spring at the rear absorbs anomalies. This combination allows for pleasant city driving, while still being able to tackle windy country roads – the handling is excellent.

The slightly wider profile, which includes the tires, also helps stabilize the motorcycle at higher speeds. It should be noted that the Mo 125 also integrates a degenerative braking system. The latter works in tandem with the 260 mm front and 240 mm rear ventilated disc brakes, to maximize the motorcycle’s range. You only need to take a look at the dashboard and check the power indicator to realize this.

One disappointing point concerns the LCD screen, which is rather primitive, cannot be customized and does not have a color display. Nevertheless, the screen remains vivid and provides all the essential information.

A high-tech electric scooter

The scooter supports theapplication « My Seat Mo », which can be downloaded on Android and iOS. Unfortunately, we did not have access to the application. However, this app allows you to check the battery level, locate the bike, start it, lock or unlock it, and even open the saddle trunk remotely.

Plenty of space under the saddle

Two full-size helmets or just one with a small backpack can be accommodated under the saddle. Such volume is due to the battery design.

If you need additional storage space, you can install a top box. The official luggage rack can hold up to 47 liters. Note that the maximum load capacity of this Escooter can reach 320 kg. It is also possible to take a few bags at the front of the bike, thanks to a spring hook. You will also find two USB Type A portspractical for recharging a smartphone.

Seat Mo 125: Green

The Mo 125 is a comfortable, spacious and elegant electric moped. It opts for a fairly unique and innovative battery design. It has good electric range, excellent high-speed stability and is easy to maneuver. However, the overall build quality, lack of advanced features, and battery limitations are hard to ignore for a vehicle that costs 5,800 euros.
