Norton presents new solution against identity theft in Brazil

In a press conference held this Wednesday morning (13), the cybersecurity company Norton brought data from a survey on the incidence of identity theft and cybercrime in Brazil. The numbers reveal that only one in five Brazilians use digital protection once morest the main types of cyber scams in the country.

In this scenario, 22% of people who use online security tools are men, while 17% are women. The survey also points out that only 18% of respondents say they use a virtual private network (VPN). About
three in ten (29%) said they change their account passwords regularly to prevent hacking.

The number of people who adopt security measures in the virtual environment is still small compared to the volume of threats discovered monthly. This survey points to the need for greater awareness among individuals regarding the risks that weak passwords and inadvertently exposed data can cause.
