The degree of tilt of the eyes would tell if a person is beautiful or not.

Determine your degree of attractiveness using a red line: this is the new filter that is a hit on TikTok. Canthal tilt measures the degree of tilt between the inner and outer corner of the eye.
Almond-shaped eyes have a positive canthal tilt, because the outer corner is slightly higher than the inner. In the case of a negative canthal tilt, the angle of inclination is reversed, the outer corner of the eye is lower than the inner one.
Beauty criteria
Can this method really tell if a person is beautiful or not? Janek Lobmaier, assistant professor at the Institute of Psychology at the University of Zurich and specialized in social perception, responds by starting by defining the very notion of attractiveness. “In evolutionary psychology, human desire is explained as follows: a person who seems attractive to us often looks healthy and seems to offer good genetic material for offspring,” explains the psychology doctor. Certain features are almost universally considered attractive. “Among women, it is, among other things, femininity – soft and even skin, soft curves, faint jaw bones and rather narrow faces,” he says. In men, it’s not as clear. Overly masculine traits can also be associated with danger and a lack of social skills.”
According to the Zurich resident, use the degree of inclination of the eye as a criterion of beauty is something new. “Usually we see a face as a whole, but upward-slanted eyes can make you look younger and more alert. Whereas if they point downwards, they can give the impression of fatigue or advanced age,” he analyzes.
Criteria change over time
This trend should however be put into perspective, according to Janek Lobmaier, because beauty criteria are constantly evolving. “That’s always been the case. For a while, the fashion was for curvy shapes, then for very filiform silhouettes. And it’s the same thing for the eyes.”
The American actress Clara Bow (1905-1965) had her eyebrows drawn so that her eyes appeared to be facing downward.

Marilyn Monroe, for example, was considered an ideal of beauty with droopy eyes, as were movie stars Clara Bow and Greta Garbo in the 1920s. Today, Anne Hathaway, Sydney Sweeney, Charlize Theron, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Robert Pattinson are also proof that the degree of slanting of the eyes has nothing to do with beauty.
Brad Pitt became famous even with droopy eyes.
